Some kids simply can’t sit through dental treatment calmly, whether due to age, anxiety, sensory sensitivities, or a special need — and that’s not a parenting shortfall, it’s a normal reality of pediatric care. Sedation dentistry exists to make necessary treatment possible and safe when a standard visit isn’t realistic.
Our sedation options, from lightest to deepest:
Safety governs the decision, not convenience. Dr. Beck determines the appropriate sedation level based on age, health history, anxiety level, and treatment scope — never defaulting to the deepest option when a lighter one will accomplish the same goal. Every sedation appointment includes continuous monitoring of heart rate, oxygen levels, and breathing, and our team trains specifically in pediatric emergency protocols.
What to expect: a pre-sedation consultation covering medical history and fasting instructions, clear before-and-after guidance for parents, and an in-office recovery period before your child heads home. Most children remember little or nothing about the procedure afterward, often the biggest relief for families with a rough dental history behind them.
If your child has significant dental anxiety, extensive treatment needs, or a condition that makes a standard visit unrealistic, ask our Falcon team which sedation option fits their situation.
